The Forum

A proposed independent European Forum

The Forum is a proposal. No members have been appointed, and EU institutions have not endorsed it.

Proposed structure

Proposed, subject to approval.

The Forum asks: What society do we want? How do we finance it? How do we make it work?

Composition

A proposed 60 independent participants and 20 proposed European institutional specialists, subject to the applicable selection and authorisation procedures. The specialists are not confirmed EU representatives.

Disciplines

Independent thinkers from social, economic, entrepreneurial, scientific, educational, legal and technological disciplines, with the purpose of investigating and improving the proposals, not simply endorsing them.

Youth

Direct participation of young adults aged 18–24 within the 60, and safeguarded consultation of ages 12–17 without additional voting seats.

Independence

Published principles on conflict of interest, independent research, minority dissent and supplier neutrality. No preferential role for companies related to the initiator.

Sponsors and ambassadors

Forum members retain independent judgment and are not appointed by sponsorship or ambassador status. Sponsors and ambassadors cannot influence Forum findings, appointments or recommendations.

Mandate

Independent assessment and recommendations to democratic institutions. The Forum is not a regulator or a lawmaking institution.

Expressing interest does not confer Forum membership.
